Legend of Zelda Fan Rumors Were "Frustrating" To Donkey Kong DevelopersWhen Eric Kozlowsky was hired by Retro Studios, it resulted in rumors about the Retro Studios team working on the next Zelda game.
The artist previously worked with PlayStation's Uncharted series and, for some reason, that inspired fans to form an alliance. But, Kozlowsky and Retro Studios were actually working on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze at the time, and when the game was officially unveiled, many Zelda fans reacted with disdain because they were expecting something else. In a new interview on Kiwi Talkz, the Kiwi Talkz podcast, Kozlowsky explained how the rumor led to frustration for the development team.
"Sometimes it's frustrating since it can lead to false expectations. I believe that was the case when we announced Tropical Freeze buy diablo 2 resurrected items. You know, everyone was thinking 'they're working on a Zelda game It's the next Zelda game', but nope. And we announced Tropical Freeze and it looks incredible and stunning and people then go "oh but this is another Donkey Kong.'
