Starting on PS5 games, NBA 2K23 was the most downloaded game on PSN at the end of September North America, while FIFA 23 was the top video FUT 23 Coins game on the PSN in Europe (which should come as no surprise given how popular football is in that region). Another new game for September, The Last of Us Part 1 came in third in both regions.

Making the switch from PS4, NBA 2K23 was top-downloaded game this month across the US and Canada and Canada, while FIFA 23 took the top spot in Europe. In terms of PSVR game titles Beat Saber was the top. first game in both North America and Europe, with Job Simulator and Superhot VR placing second and third in both regions.

In terms of free-to-play games, covering PS5 and PS4 as a whole, Fortnite was the most-downloaded game in the US and Canada in addition to Rumbleverse was the most popular free-to-play game across Europe.

Sony has plans to be ambitious for the next generation of virtual reality hardware, as it plans two million of its PSVR 2 headset ready by the end of March.The mass production of the virtual reality headset began from September (via Bloomberg) and has never faced shortages in the supply chain. With the PS5 continuing to be highly sought-after due to its low availability after its release in November of 2020, Sony also plans to offer more consoles on shelves by 2023, according to Bloomberg's sources.

PSVR 2 isn't yet set to be released beyond 2023, but Sony is attempting to ensure that it has enough PS5 consoles for gamers to play games with the new headset. The hardware will only work on PS5 and will not be backwards compatible with PSVR games.

The only thing we know about the hardware is that it has impressive specs.
